The Cre8tion Crochet Team is growing… meet our newest designer!
I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Cre8tion Crochet team. Leah Feild is joining us as our newest pattern collaborator. I am very excited to have her on board. Leah has just begun to release patterns and they are all great. She will be sharing FREE patterns with us here but you can also find some of her paid patterns on Ravelry.
I asked Leah to tell us a little about herself and her designing…
Designing is what makes me tick and my absolute favorite items to design are crochet wearables. I love coming up with new accessories and am starting to venture into crochet clothing. I am so excited to see what the future holds for me as I continue to grow and learn new skills even after over 20 years of crocheting. I want to learn to spin and tat and there are so many things on my creative “to do” list.
I have been designing patterns for others to use since March of 2014. I love coming up with ideas and seeing the things that are in my head come to life with my hook in hand. I have designed and created for my own use since I started crocheting as a little girl; although, at the time, I didn’t realize that is what I was doing. I taught myself to crochet after having watched my Memaw crochet for as long as I could remember. This past year, she gave me her hooks as she is unable to crochet anymore. That was a bittersweet gift.
I started selling my finished items a few years back to have the little extras for my family. I have an amazingly supportive husband, Matthew, and two beautiful children, Rebekah and Thomas. They are the motivation behind everything that I do and some of my best ideas have come from my daughter.
One of my favorite thoughts on creativity and my design process is this one from Scott Adams: “Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”
