How long have you been crocheting?
I learned to crochet in 2010. For my birthday that year my friend gave me a gift card. With that card I bought a learn to crochet book. I read the book cover to cover, made all six projects and fell in love with crochet.
I started blogging that same year. Soon after I learned to crochet I discovered bloggers! It was like opening a door to a whole new world. It was colorful, inspiring and a bit addictive. The blogosphere became one of my favorite places to be. A place to be inspired and connect with other amazing, positive, creative women. I’m so happy I made a little space for me!What are your favorite items to make?
I adore granny squares! Not just for blankets but all kinds of things… Granny’s Guitar Strap is one of my favorite items to make.
What is your favorite thing about crocheting and or blogging?
What I love most about crochet is that you can create something beautiful with the simplest of tools, yarn and hook. And I love that it’s totally portable!
What are your favorite yarns (brands or types) to work with?
I’m a Hobby Lobby kinda girl. I’m especially fond of there Yarn Bee products and I Love This Yarn for big projects like blankets.
What was your inspiration for your pattern?
The Sweet Little Bows were inspired by Bianca Gerwien’s Sweet Little Belts. I first made these last October for two little girls who requested I make them nerdy crochet bows to go with their Halloween costumes. But… they turned out to be not so nerdy and seriously cute!
Tell me a little something about your personal life… kids, family, pets, etc.
I’m a wife and mama to three girls. We share our home with two dogs, two cats, a hamster, a turtle and 6 fish! Besides my beautiful family and crochet… I love yoga, simplicity, sunshine, Sunday afternoons, gardening, vintage treasure, DIY projects and photography.
